Practices
Prayer
We enlist people in the collective to pray for each of the young people we work with. It takes a lot of bravery and strength to be authentic in environments that are not affirming, and even more to have conversations about LGBTQ identity in those environments. We want young people to know that they are being supported by numerous people across the country, and it's one of the simplest ways to support us and get involved!
Mentorship
We provide regular one on one conversations and check-ins with Brian, Micah, and other folks who have walked in similar shoes and have the skills to train others to organize.
Training
We are currently working to develop programs and curriculum tailored for the folks we serve. We are going to rely heavily on the input of the young people who participate, so we desperately need your input!
Resources
We provide links to online resources and media, as well as develop our own resources in-house to display online and distribute hard copies. We also connect participants to our collective of supportive people who have a wide variety of experience in faith communities and in LGBTQ organizing.
Community
We connect young people in different Christian communities with one another and with a wider body of supporters. Since there is usually one or only a few voices crying out in the wilderness, working in unsupportive environments can be extremely isolating. We want folks to know that they are not alone, and that they are in fact part of a growing community of LGBTQ people and allies in faith communities.
