Psalm 139 Litany
New Living Translation, Additional text from David Sisco
1O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. 2 You know my every thought when far away.
I open my heart to you this evening that I may know you better.
4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. 5 You both precede and follow me.
When I need You to walk with me, You are there. When I ask You to go ahead of me, blessing my path, You do.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to know!
I am overwhelmed by Your grace!
13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Others may not understand me, God, but you do, and I celebrate each day that I discover more of who I am.
16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
What a comfort to know that You are the author of my days.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts.
Challenge me tonight to testify to the Your all-inclusive love. To be a mirror of Your grace. To embrace others as You embrace me.
We ask this in your Holy and matchless name. Amen.
